The Bibliocentre works closely with its user groups for direction, planning and approval for all new initiatives. Katherine Wallis, Director of the Library Commons at Georgian College in Barrie, is the current Chair of the Users' Advisory Group for Learning Resource Centres. The Users' Advisory Group has the following membership:

  • one representative from each college (in most cases the Director of the Learning Resource Centre)
  • the Director of the Bibliocentre

The managers and the staff of the Bibliocentre as well as the staff members from LRCs participate in the UAG meetings to provide input and expertise.

The UAG advises the Bibliocentre on priorities, directions, information and technical issues arising from the Bibliocentre mandate, especially those directly affecting LRCs.

  • The UAG strikes task forces and working groups as required.
  • The members of UAG elect the chair.
  • The UAG meets no less than three times a year.
  • The UAG receives and generates reports, recommendations, financial statements and other documentation necessary for informed decision-making.
  • The UAG directs the Bibliocentre in determining the projects to be funded from the Development Fund.
