Services To Learning Resources Centres

As a central agency, the Bibliocentre provides all Learning Resource Centres with services in the following areas:

leadership, planning, coordination
acquisition, cataloguing and physical processing of all material formats
management of automated library system (Sirsidynix) and provision of computing services
creation and maintenance of an automated catalogue and database that contains information on materials in all college libraries and facilitates resource sharing and interlibrary loan
on-line public access catalogue
web access to BIBCAT Library Catalogue
evaluation and acquisition of electronic learning resources
training coordination
provision of Help Desk Services
reports on acquisition activities

Learning Packages

The Learning Packages Project was initiated in 1968 as a service component of the Bibliocentre with a purpose to produce, print and distribute college-designed learning materials to support courses intended specifically for individuals interested in a management or supervisory position, or running a small business.

In 1990's the role of Learning Packages Project expanded to include the approval and issuance of provincial certificate under the aegis of the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU) for Ontario Management Development Program (OMDP).

The copyright for all produced materials is held by the Ministry of Education and Training.

Current Offerings:

Ontario Management Development Program - OMDP
Courses are designed for individuals interested in a management or supervisory position, owners of small businesses or individuals seeking self-employment.
The main customers are Ontario Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology (OCAAT)

Training Improvement Plan - TIP
The courses are of technical and vocational nature, e.g. Plumbing.
The main customers are Ontario Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology (OCAAT)
